That's interesting. I was not aware Apple sold memory cards at any price. They aren't mentioned on the website.

If you think Apple has inflated prices for those mystery memory cards, you should check out the Prada Symbole bag! Retails for $4,95 at Saks. BTW, retail market products typically are not in the sights of Federal regulators.

My first tablets were Samsung Galaxies. I have since purchased 3 Apple iPads. They sold themselves and I wasn't bullied into buying any of them.

You completely missed the point.  Apple doesn't sell memory cards.  He's talking about the price difference between models with different amounts of memory.

Just adding to the list that Costco has 10th gen 256GB @ $539.99 (and 64GB 10th gen @ $399.99). Color choices Blue or Silver. Shipping is $4.99/Apple Care+ is also available for addtl $. Woman Happy

Just an aside here, but Apple really overcharges for memory. They want $140 more to go from 64GB to 256 GB? A 256 GB memory card typically retails for under $25. And Apple doesn't pay retail prices. The installation costs are the same. It doesn't make the iPad weigh more or cost them more to ship it. They just bully the customer into paying a lot for something that costs them very little. And they do it across their whole product line. Memory that might cost them $10 they sell for ten times that or more. If they ever get into trouble with regulators, it'll be over their inflated memory prices. The prices they charge for "extra" memory are just crazy.

Apple tablets iPads don't have a memory card slot. Samsung tablets and a few phones have a memory slot.

Samsung S series products are just as expensive.

@MKR14 I checked apple's site. The blue 10th generation 256 GB with wi-fi is $599. It has an option of 12-month financing at $49 and some change if the customer desires. That might affect your decision. I purchase my apple products from their site to get their support.

@On It you do not have to buy from Apple to get their support. I purchase my iPhones from Verizon and my iPad from Best Buy and I have gotten Apple Support on both.

No, you don't.  As long as you register your device with Apple and buy from an Authorized reseller, you will get support.  The amount of time for the support depends if you get the minimum or buy additional time via Apple Care.

I bought mine at Target last year, 10 th gen. I did buy a 64gb I felt I didn't need a 256 gb.  (That's just me)  My old one was probably 10 years old and was a 16gb   I've had zero issues.  I think I paid 449.  I don't have a red card, because I don't buy a ton at Target.

@gadgetgal613 there was a typo in my post. I meant to say you do NOT have to buy from Apple to get their support. The rest of my post indicated I did not buy my devices from Apple and I have received Apple support

Do you know you can edit a post if a typo happenes?  There is a lot of misinformation posted on this board, especially about Apple products.  I stand by what I posted because at the time, what you wrote was wrong.  I hope you went back and edited it.

@gadgetgal613 Yes I know I can edit my post and I did edit it yesterday. I didn't realize the typo until yesterday when I read your response. You can stand by what you posted. I don't care. I was just fixing my typo and stating you do not have to buy from Apple to get their support. Becuase I have done it on all of my devices.

Apple makes some very nice quality products, but

I am a Samsung fan girl who would miss her Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard.
