iPad or smallest MacAir?

I was sure I was in love with the iPad until I saw the 11" MacAir (not sure I have the name right) the other day, and now I'm not quite as sure as I was in the first place.

Does anyone have experience with both of those devices? I love the fun part of the iPad but I know what I really need is something to take notes into on the run. The little I machine is VERY light and very small, so it almost looked like an iPad only safer and a little bit more work oriented.

Anyone?
