I have an iPad that I can use on a cellular plan with a SIM card. I used to have a great pay-as-you-go plan from AT&T, but they no longer offer it.

I only need the cellular service while traveling - when I don't have access to wifi or bluetooth.

Does anyone who uses a cellular plan with their iPad have a suggestion for a company or plan to look at?

Thanks!

Re: iPad celluar service?

[ Edited ]

I get my iPad cell service from Verizon for $10/ month.  We have 2 other phones on that account so I'm not sure if that's why it's $10.00 but I couldn't be without it.

@madzonie, I used to have an iPad with cellular service and rarely used that service. Now when I'm ar a hotel or such, I used my phone as a hot spot. If you're visiting friends or fanily, you can use their WiFi.

@Tori3569 Interesting.  I have an iPad with Verizon service which costs me $20.00 a month.  When I first got it they gave me a discount because I have a family plan with 4 phones (yes I still have my two adult chilren on my plan).  So they gave me $5.00 for each phone which came out to an even wash.

I wonder if there is a difference in the plan?

@haddon9  Phone companies offer different deals all the time.

I had AT&T service, and decided it was a rip-off, so I change to T-mobile.  (I no longer have an iPad with cellular service, hoping for a new iPad mini!). While I was at the T-mobile store changing my cell service (keeping old phone), they offered me in home Wifi at $30, which is the plan they offer at $50.  I did the 30 day free trial and returned it, wifi is included as part of my better than most Spectrum cable package. T-mobile's wifi service is wireless except for the power cord, so it's really cellular service.  Everything month to month, no contract.

@madzonie I think you can probably get cell service for your iPad from T-mobile.  A friend of mine bought a tablet from them with cell service, which he didn't want!  I think it was $15 or less.  My friend is also on T-mobile for his cellphone.

My mom uses Verizon with hers, but the Verizon service is spotty where she lives.
