Re: iPad battery change questions.

I changed a battery in an iPad.  It's not easy.  The battery is flat up against the back of the screen.

You need a special tool to open the iPad..  It is held together with sticky tape that you buy that fits your model of iPad.  You have to remove almost the whole inside which consists of small wiresand baby screws and they have to be removed in a certain order.

I bought everything I needed on e-bay and watched a YouTube video.  The next time I needed a new battery, I just replaced the iPad.

Apple doesn't make things easy.  They want you to replace, not repair.

Re: iPad battery change questions.

@Mindy D I never had a new battery installed on any of my iPads, so I can't answer your question. But not knowing how old your iPad is, it might be worth upgrading to a new one. Especially since the Generation 9 has been on sale at a few places like Best Buy, Costco, and Amazon. Best Buy will take trade ins, go to their website, scroll down to "trade ins" to see how much they will give you. They give you a Best Buy gift card and then you can use for a new device (or anything else that they sell). Apple will also do trade ins but they might not have a better price on a new device. It never hurts to have more information than needed to make a decision.
