I finally got my new 12 inch iPad Pro a couple of weeks ago.  I haven't had time to call for the one hour online consult Apple said I could have but in the meantime, I am feeling out of my league with this thing.

An annoying problem just popped up yesterday.  There's a gray circle in the middle of the screen that I can't get rid of.  Siri directed me to Google for help which said to go to settings>accessories >something else (can't remember right now).  That didn't work.  (Love this keyboard although it has challenged me, too).

Anybody know something else I can try?  Thanks.

Go to settings, accessibility, physical and motor, touch, assistivetouch

turn assistivetouch off.

Gray circle should be gone.

.@Buster43 , assistive touch already off.  Something else must be wrong.

@Mmsfoxxie,  Under Accessibility --> Touch --> AssistiveTouch, even though AssistiveTouch is disabled sometimes the "Dwell Control" option can cause the dot to appear.   If Dwell Control is enabled, try switching it off.😊

Hi @dooBdoo.    They are both off with no change.

@Mmsfoxxie what size is the gray  circle?    Are you using the Smart Keyboard?  The only gray circle I have seen is the pointer using the Smart Keyboard trackpad so I am curious.

@Jk9, yes, I'm using the Smart Keyboard which I have a love/hate relationship with.  I've wondered if I hit something on it to make the circle appear.  The circle is very small, exactly in the middle of the screen.

Can you move the circle if you move your finger across the track pad on the keyboard?  If it moves and becomes a vertical line when you touch a word, could be the cursor.   I have a gray circle in the middle of my screen right now, but I can move it out of the way or click on a word with it.

I relate to your adventure as I bought my Pro in January from Costco and got the keyboard from apple at the same time. It takes time to become comfortable and I bought the iPad Pro for Dummies since I was a Microsoft user and android samsung phone.  If you are familiar with the cursor please excuse my mentioning it but I personally had no clue about the basics of the device and didn't know a thing.

@Jk9 , strangely, it does turn into a line sometimes but I don't know how that occurs.  I'm not using the track pad, at least not on purpose, cause I'm scared of it, lol.  My circle doesn't move but I notice on some sites, it's not there.    75% of the time it is there.  I got tired of it today and went back to my 10 inch iPad Pro.  By the way the Smart Keyboard feels really good when typing but on some places that mini board pops on the screen.  Weird.  Thanks for trying help.

@Mmsfoxxie You can go into settings:  general    Keyboard and you can toggle off the floating keyboard switch to keep that pesky thing from popping up,  I had that happen to me and couldn't figure out how to stop it.

I am pretty sure the dot is your cursor, because my disappears sometimes while I am typing and then reappears.  Just move it our of your way and you are fine.  I keep mine on the lower corner of the screen so that it isn't in the middle of anything..  Just touch your trackpad and slide the dot to the side or wherever you want it.  Don't be afraid of the track pad as it really is pretty cool.  If you don't want to purchase a book, go to the apple site in support and check out what they have on the iPad Pro.  Best wishes to you.
