iPad Mini vs iPod Touch?

I have an iPad Mini and my mp3 player doesn't work right anymore so I ordered an iPod Touch. Except the size what's the difference between the mini and iPod Touch? Looks like just a smaller one? I don't have cell plan on my mini, just wireless only. So will they be about the same?
