iPad Mini Setup Question

I told my husband NO MORE ELECTRONICS! I already have an iPad2 but he got me the Mini for Christmas. Now before I turn it on I want to know...will I need to setup a different Apple account for it or can I use my iPad2 account? What about the Apps I bought for my iPad2, will they be available for my Mini or will I have to buy them again? I'm assuming the Mini is the same as the full size iPads just smaller?
