I read that Meltdown and Spectre affect all devices, including Android.

Installed this last night. Completely ruined my computer. Am totally locked out. All it does is constantly reboot.
my husband is bringing in the computer to apple store tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do, have had nothing but problems with this computer since beginning of Jan.. it is only. 2 yrs old. Am ready to ditch apple and go back to Microsoft. 2 weeks ago my computer locked me out would not accept my password. Had to wait for a week to bring to apple store to fix that problem.

@viva923, you might have a defective device. My iPad 3 was always troublesome, not as bad as your problems, but it was glitchy.
What does Apple say when they do a diagnostic?

11.2.5 installed today with no problem.

Also installed 11.2.5 update on my iPad and iPhone with no problem.
I always do an iCloud backup before installing updates - just in case something goes wrong.

Installed fine. iPhone still works. No problems (yet?).

Installed it on your computer? iOS is NOT for computers. As far as I know, iOS is for iPhones and iPads

apple had to totally remove the operating system and install the new operating system. so glad we keep a G drive backing up the computer. it helped us set up the computer again. I mean we had to install everything.
computer is up and running great, but security update was a doozy.

@viva923 I'm glad you got your computer running again. What had you installed that messed it up? It wasn't this iOS 11.2.2 security update that we're discussing, because iOS is only for ipads and iphones.
I downloaded High Sierra on my 2014 MacBook Air, and it was fine. I'm kind of scared to download another update with a computer this old though.
