google chrome

windows (microsoft??) did a mega update a week or so ago (44 of them) and now my adobe flashplayer or silverlight doesnt work. Even here on the Q it says on top "we're sorry. Your browser's current security settings may be preventing you from viewing....."

DH downloaded google chrome and websites are still asking me to download flashplayer and when i click on it, it says it wont download as the program already exists. This happens to both flashplayer and silverlight.

any suggestions?
