gardenman, you gave me this info a few months ago, apparently I have to fix it again. Can you tell me which CC to use. My last in programs was dated Feb.2017. I went to the installs and different ones are showing.
The VCRUNTIME error is not uncommon. You can download and install the Visual C++ package and it should fix that issue. They won't let us post links these days, but if you search for that issue on the Microsoft Community forums at answers.microsoft.com you should find a link to the downloads you need. It's typically a very easy fix.

The site bleepingcomputer.com has a great tutorial on how to fix this issue. If the link below lasts, that should get you there. If it gets poofed, then a general online search for "VCRUNTIME140" should bring that up among a host of other sites.
Removed link to another retailer

gardenman, I did go to the link and will search it. A friend said her son may be able to help but he won't be home for a few days. I'll wait and read up on it at the link you posted. For some reason the only hotmail that the office 365 is in is the one I use most. Otherwise, I would have left it alone. Thanks.

gardenman, my friends son couldn't figure out what to do so I took it into the computer place. The owner worked on it for about an hour and then decided to reinstall windows. It still didn't bring in Firefox. He did try the dll install and that didn't fix it either. By the time I left I had 3 of the men trying to figure it out. This shop has a high rating in this area and more like a mom and pop shop. Rather than leave it to get Firefox back on I decided to buy a new computer. Mine is 5 years old and I guess due for a new one. My Firefox data was put in Chrome and Edge something I couldn't do. I still wonder why the Dll wouldn't work. It was missing last time and was fixed but I had to leave it for a few days at a higher cost. I always used Firefox because of the set up and ease accessing everything. Looking at a Dell and HP. Not sure which I should get but always had a Dell. Don't care for Edge and still figuring out where things are. I feel like my computer is like having a messy office desk. I like organization. Any suggestions on either HP or Dell?

I can't really offer you a recommendation. The last prebuilt computer I bought was an E-Machine around 1999-2000, so that gives you some idea of how long ago that was. I've built my last three computers myself. I just find them more reliable and made for exactly what I need.
My current build is one year old (maybe thirteen months?) and uses an AMD 5600G CPU. I only buy four or five-star-rated components when I build a PC and they've been absurdly reliable. I get about seven years or more from each PC. I can reuse parts from the previous build on each new build and the cost savings can add up that way. I splurged on a new case this last build (A Corsair 4000D for all of $49.99) as my old case was about fifteen years old.

gardenman, I was told that the computer I have has way more than I need to do what I usually do. This time I'll get something that doesn't have as much. I did go into my programs and all the dll's are in there, I sat and watched the guy work on the computer. Using edge since it's seems to be more like firefox but can't organize as much. I learned a few things about the computer through this so it may help in the future. Thanks for the help. My family has Apple products so no one can help with a computer. The computer I'm looking at is out of stock so hopefully it will come back in soon.
I have my first Dell laptop and it was working fine until the mouse on it didn't work. I tried using an external mouse and still didn't work. No one can figure that one out. I never took it in to be checked since it was time to update to this one.
