In college education we've been aware of it for a few years. Sometimes I think "they" have promoted it before everyone else.

I still do not think I can spot an AI-generated essay, though. Therefore, I ask my students very pointed questions, and of course, they need to cite their source/s of information.

I have just started reading Michael Connelly's new book " Proving Ground" about AI chatbot gone too far.  Should be interesting.  Definitely not a fan of AI.

@chessylady The problem is it will "use" us and affect us whether we "use" it or not.

I do not worry about it.   I will be dust by the time AI becomes "self aware" & evolves into Sky Net.

I'm surprised Q has not had on NEO the robot housekeeper.

Retails for $20,000 & comes in 3 colors.  Equals 800 co-pays at $25 a pop.  icon_razz.gif

@Mz iMac

Can't you hear the pitch now?!

"Comes in four  colors---Black, White, Yellow and Red....

Red is the most popular (those Foodies!) and this is on EASY PAY of 5 payments of $5000. !!!

Imagine that! Just $5000 gets this home in time for the Holidays when you really need that extra pair of hands

to help with food prep and guest services!

We are very very busy on the phone lines so go online and order before these are gone!  If you have this in your cart check out now before someone comes along and buys it out from under you! .....Now let's go over colors once more....."

Whoops!  Sorry!  I just noticed your caption under the picture that pretty much said what I was thinking!  Great minds must run on similar chips and circuitry! Smiley LOL

The question is too ambiguous. AI encompasses a vast network of applications to imply a worrisome aspect of of the broad scope of it all.

I think everybody should be worried about AI. I also think it should be mandatory for any part of any AI to be labeled as such. But like most things there's a good side and a bad side. It will be used for good and used for nefarious. reasons. I am excited for it but cautious. I don't watch TV but it's my understanding that there have been ai models on commercials for a few years.

I remember reading for the first time in 1973 Deen Koontz's book Demon Seed, and then seeing the movie a few years later. I am not worried about AI, but AI reminds me of Proteus, and it does still scare me.

The AI when I do a Browser search, No.  It's only regurgitating what it can find on other sites, usually the ones immediately following the AI box.

What I do worry about is what some might do with it.
