I agree. I would stay away from generic adapters, not to mention other 'parts'. I tend to stick with OEM stuff for my computers, cameras, etc. I've heard horror stories about generic adapters and just general stories about other non-OEM parts being pretty much worthless (which, I suppose, is why they garner such low prices. ha!).
