cookie problem

My computer was running slow today. I called centurylink and they ask if I had cleared my cookies( I think thats what they called it) anyways I said no. I have had this computer for a year. So they walked me through the process and I cleared my cookies and it is running so much better. for those computer savoy how often does this need to be done?? I will probably have to call them again and get them to walk me through. I have to say they were very nice. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}
