The hardest part of setting up Echo seems to be putting batteries in the remote. The battery cover is apparently a bit tight. You simply use one of the Echo apps to hook Echo into your wifi system and then you're good to go. You can then use the voice training to improve Echo's responsiveness.

I'm a non-techie here. I had absolutely no problem setting up my Echo. So my only advice to you is: don't over-think it. It's really simple. And if you have any problem whatsoever, you can call the Echo help line and they'll walk you through.

Yeah, it's a snap as long as you have the password for your wifi. You can use your computer, smartphone, or tablet to get the app to set up the wifi. I've checked it all out in anticipation of getting mine on Thursday and the only thing I've seen people have an issue with is the battery door on the remote.

You do need the password for your modem so if you don't know it, contact your service provider. The Echo set up is so simple you don't need to fret about it.
