Attended my first Zoom meeting today which was hosted by someone else. I hit the Record button at the bottom of the screen on my laptop for a couple of minutes.  Does anyone know where to find this recording on my laptop?  I can't find it anywhere.

@glb613  Thanks but I already went to that page.  It didn't clarify anything for this dummy.

@Ibby114  Perhaps that's why I may not even have a recording.

@Deree , maybe this helps...

The host can give recording permission by going to the "settings" menu of his Zoomapp, then "recordings" and then enable "Cloud Recordings" and "Local Recordings." PC users can record meetings by clicking on the "record" button at the bottom of their screen.

@Lilysmom1  So what you're saying is that I cannot record a zoom session I'm attending unless I specifically have the permission of the host (who controls who may record)?

@Deree , I have no experience doing this.  My understanding is that the host has to allow it.  In reading more about it, it appears there is software that allows you to do this. Many use it in a classroom setting.  There also may be a way to screen record but that is above my knowledge level.  I would simply ask the host's permission and record.

Re: Zoom Question

[ Edited ]

If the host allows participants to record, look on the link that was given above and scroll down to the words default location, This is where in your computer that zoom parked the file. You will go to your files and find that file, it appears to be the temporary file folder. If you use a Microsoft style computer, not an apple product, it is in your documents folder. Which should be labeled documents and you'll click on that and open it up. See if you have a temporary folder or a downloads folder or look for it with some kind off odd name or even numbers. That is how temporary files come into my Mac, with numbers.

Thanks @Growing  The zoom call had already taken place. The host didn't give permission to record but then I hadn't asked about recording.  All I saw was a record button at the bottom of my screen so I clicked on it and thought perhaps it had recorded.

You have to have permission from the host to record.  Another option is to be the host and record the meeting.
