ZAGG KEYBOARD ? FOR IPAD AIR

Ok this is really dumb so please forgive my ignorance. I hooked up my zagg keyboard to my ipad air..great...works fine. How do I point and click on it? I am using my finger on the screen or my stylus to get my cursor to where I need to type, is that it? Heaven forbid they include any instructions for us dummies!! Any help appreciated. TIA
