Re: Windows update for windows 10?

My notice says I need to renew the subscription. Is this really necessary?

Re: Windows update for windows 10?

I have my computer with Windows 10 set to automatically update. I don't worry about any of it or read anything about it. If I did, I probably would not understand it anyways.

Re: Windows update for windows 10?

Windows 10 is your operating system.  YOu don't have a subscription for it.

That may be a warning for something else that is the "Windows 10 version."

Just a update I am the O/P and I want to thank everyone for there input. All we had to do was clear some disc space and we are all good now. Woman Happy

My system is set to do automatic updates to Win10. The last major one was done back in December and it was for 'Feature Updates'. After that it's been the usual security updates, last one done on 1/9.

I just did a "Check for Updates" and there are none. My system is up to date according to this.

All my devices are on automatic updates as well and I had problems until I  cleared my disc's.

Huh?  I never heard of a fake update, how would that even work?  Of course, I did the Windows 10 update.  It included some enhanced privacy elements so who wouldn't want that?  It did take a while.  Between the Windows 10 update and then the Acer update that followed and then my Epson printer update; the process took about 2 hours.  I'm glad I did it in the evening.

We have received a similar message for months now.  It says we need to renew our license.  Of course, we don't have a license since we did the automatic system upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  The system thinks we have Windows 10 Pro.  If we do, we didn't do anything to get it.  It's kind of frustrating.  The one time we called Microsoft they wanted to take control of our computer and I wasn't comfortable with that.  We just keep getting the message.

We just do the automatic updates.  Never had a problem with that.
