Windows Update Not Working Well

For three days now when I check for updates it keeps telling me to download the same three updates when I already have. I googled this problem and saw other people have been having the same trouble. I was going crazy thinking it was something I was doing wrong. Why doesn't whoever is in charge of Windows Updates try and fix it. Three days is too long.
