Windows 8 and Trend Micro 2012 compatibility.

I downloaded Windows 8 (which took 6 hours!) and then after the download it proceeds to install Windows 8 on the PC. Before the actual installation was to take place I received an error message telling me that Trend Micro 2012 is not compatible with Windows 8. So I am stuck at what to do. I have not gone any further. I purchased my laptop with 4 years of antivirus (Trend Micro 2012) just 2 months ago. I'm hoping that there's some mistake and that I will not have to uninstall my antivirus. Has anyone run into this problem if so, please help! What should I do? I hate to have paid for Windows 8 and can't use it, or install Windows 8 and have to make an additional antivirus purchase. Thanks!
