My bot finally got here but now the weather here is not cooperating with me wanting to wash my windows. It has been incredibly hot for the past week and now we have torrential rains everyday. Hopefully the weather will get better soon and then I can do my windows.

I've been googling for info about what to use for the cleaner that goes inside the bot besides just buying their brand of cleaner which is expensive.  I've come across some info that says the OEM bot window cleaning solutions contain about a 5% concentration of alcohol in them which helps the water evaporate off of the glass quickly. They are mostly made of water. I plan on making my own cleaning solution using distilled water plus 70% isopropyl alcohol added to that.

My calculation to make an approx 5% alcohol strength is below. Makes a little over one pint (16oz). It doesn't have to be exactly 5% but close to that.

16 ounces distilled water

1 ounce 70% isopropyl alcohol

I would think that if your windows are so dirty that you can scape stuff off of them then I would clean them manually first if at all possible. Hose them down for the outside first then use the bot. On the inside...if your windows are that dirty with crud, I would still do them manually first if possible then use the bot. Mine are not the bad inside or out.

The microfiber bot pads do most of the cleaning. Very little use of chemicals would be needed and just water would do the job really. Might need to 'rinse and repeat' if windows are really dirty.

I used my bot this morning on one of my big windows and I love it.  The bot did a very good job though not 100% perfect but still waaay better than the way they were before. I used it on the inside and on the outside, too. Just a few sections where the bot couldn't clean b/c of the window latches on the insides were in the way.  The outside sliders were also a challenge for the bot on one vertical edge b/c the power cord prevented the window from closing all the way so there's about an inch that it couldn't clean. Other than that, the rest of my window got really clean with just a few streaks but not bad. I could go over it again and that would take care of it so maybe next time. I'll do some other windows tomorrow if the weather holds up.

Couple of things I noticed...

The pads cannot be overly wet b/c if they are too wet then it causes the bot to mistrack from slipping and it misses spots on the window. Just use very slightly damp or dry pads.

The spray nozzles need to be free of droplets otherwise they won't spray b/c the bot thinks there is liguid out there so it stops spraying. Just wipe after changing each pad.

My opinion is QVC needs to bring one on as a TSV.
