I would always go with an ipad first, but second to that--a Kindle HDX, definitely. It's a great all around tablet and everyone I know who has one, loves it. I've got the ipad Air but I want a Kindle HDX too. Look it up on Amazon and it will tell you all the great features it has. QVC sells last year's model. The second generation HDX came out a couple of months ago and it's even better than the first one...but I think you'd be happy with either version.

Vote for iPad here. You can install apps for both Kindle and Nook and read both types. Plus the browser/internet connect is more stable in my opinion. I have two Nooks, another android tablet, a samsung S4, an iPhone 6+ and an iPad 4. The iPad is my first choice for Web browsing! But for just reading the Nook is fine as well as the Nook app on any device I've tried. I do NOT have a Kindle though Smiley Wink
