I have both an iPad Air and a Kindle HDX. I like them both but like my iPad more. I would go to a store like Best Buy to take a look at them. Which ever you choose I hope you enjoy it!

I have an iPad 4, and two Android tablets. I would go to Best Buy, and a cell phone store to take the tablets on a test drive. The cell phone store would have them connected to the web. I like my iPad 4, and also my Samsung Galaxy Pro 8.4 " tab.

I'm a Nook girl because I don't like the monopoly on Kindle format books. You have to buy them at Amazon. My local public library has almost 50,000 titles in EPUB format, but only about 3000 in Kindle format.

There are new apps that you can get for your kindle to translate the formats, but I don't know how well they work.

Anyway, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 is a good quad core Android tablet all on it's own, so the added Nook content will be nice!

Kindle and iPad are both good. But I can get kindle software on my iPad, and all the other things in the iOS world as well. Doesn't work the other way around. The iPad is in my hands off and on all day and I wouldn't give it up.
