@Susic wrote:I am l thinking of getting IPhone 15 plus. Getting rid of my landline and have a Tracfone. I have no trade in or carrier to add to deal , and there are currently no discounts on this IPhone, The web sites information is not geared to someone being new to initial purchase of phone and signing up for a carrier. Is it best to buy phone at say Apple Store, then find carrier , or vice versa? I only need one phone and probably don't need unlimitted data. Appreciate any information as to how to start the process. Speaking to someone on phone, sometimes gets confusing and I always end up buying wrong thing, And I can imagine trying to find help in stores this time of year. Thank you for any help! Susi.
Be sure to check out the claims of getting a free iPhone. No company is going to stay in business giving away expensive phones. I'm posivite you are buying the phone and the cost is included in your monthly charge. This happened to a friend of mine and when she finally figured it out, she went back to AT&T, paid for the phone and went back to her previous prepay plan. Buyer beware!

@gadgetgal613 Yes, that is reason it is taking so long to decide. I want to own phone outright and keep it as long as I can. Some sites don't really give price of phone without adding in the carriers and trade in.Best Buy is especially confusing. Since I don't have a trade in, and the IPhone 15's aren't discounted, will probably buy on two year free financing ,and figure out which carrier on my own. Guess I need to chat with Consumer Cellular after dust settles this weekend. Thank you !

@Susic, when we purchased our iPhone 15+, you couldn't get a unlocked one from Best Buy, you had to pick either AT&T or Verizon. From Consumer Cellular, you could get one and make monthly payments. I think that you can make monthly payments if purchasing through Apple, I think that they are interest free if you're using an Apple credit card. At least, if purchasing through Apple you can choose AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, or unlocked. Even though we went to Consumer Cellular, we purchased our unlocked phones through Apple. It was very easy for CC to set them up over the phone. The longest part was having to go through Verizon to keep our same phone numbers, but the CC rep handled a lot of that for us. The other thing to consider is that even though you plan on keeping your new phone for a long time, Apple's trade in value is higher than other phones if you get a new one. Good luck, I know it can be very confusing.

@Toot1920 Thank you , it is confusing. I just checked and it seems Apple charges $30.00 extra if you buy it with interest free plan and don't use one of their carriers. Not a deal breaker , but still. I guess it may make sense to get it thru Consumer Cellular. My cable provider Spectrum has $29.00 a month including unlimited data and sell Iphone 15s. Have to read all that fine print next. No rush, since no sales , so that is a plus.

I have purchased all my Apple products directly from the Apple website. Have never had any problems.

@Susic, my mom has her service with Spectrum and she likes it. She has an iPhone not a 15 but not sure where she got it. Good luck with your search!

@Toot1920 Thanks, good to know. They sell IPhone ,same price everywhere, so worth a look. They seem to raise their prices, at least for cable tv frequently though. We shall see!
