Hey Big Sister, Truth be told, when I come in this room to get on the computer I always close the door and I have no doubt that when he hears me open it and call his name he KNOWS my first words are going to be "hey I need some help in here with this thing" he cringes and thinks "Oh God now what!" and would be happy to be adopted out to someone.

I finally went and brought a new computer with win 10 loaded on it. What a difference from when I tried several times to download the win 10 on my two 8.1 computers. I do not think I will ever try to update them again. That was a nightmare.

I know a few people that have done the free upgrade and it was a disaster. They had to get new computers as it wasn't worth paying someone to fix.

Those upgrades are rarely flawless.

I have a new computer with Windows 10 and it's just okay. Kaspersky does not work well with it at all.

Smart plan! I don't have anything against Win10, quite simply because I just don't know enough about it to have an opinion. But I do know some things about upgrading an operating system on an existing computer and don't recommend it. Too many things can go wrong, such as programs that are not compatible, etc.

I'm glad that some people have had success with upgrading their Operating System, but it IS a gamble. I did it once from Vista to Win7 and there were some issues. Whenever the OS is VERY different from the older one there are major concerns. Maybe going from 8-8.1 to 10 has a higher success rate because there are fundamental similarities, from what I've seen. But going from 7 to 10 I would DEFINITELY not even consider.
