I want to emphasize this is not about iOS 8.0.
It's the newer one, 8.0.1, just released this afternoon and pulled after a couple of hours.
And it appears only the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are affected.

exactly dooBdoo!!
i think some people are mistaking the two. i did upgrade to 8 a couple days ago and i have not had any problems at all! i never even got the 8.0.1 update because of how quickly they pulled it but i know many people had. and my update did not take hours at all! it was about 10 minutes or less but i waited until 5am. i still have my iphone 4S and i am in no hurry to part with it at the moment - it will probably be next year before i do. i am very happy with my phone!

It also just freezes at any given moment and nothing unfreezes it except to turn it off. Anyone else having problems with there iPads?Ibought an iPad Air 2 weeks ago and it's been a little wonky since the beginning. I will be taking it to the Apple Store for a check up tomorrow.

I decided to try once more, figuring 2 in the morning, plus the big possibility of a lot of folks thinking the issue is with all of the version 8 updates would probably have alleviated the congestion and I was right! The update downloaded in less than 10 minutes!
Thanks for getting back to me Buck-i-Nana. The pipeline from your area to Apple's servers must have really been clogged or their servers were way overloaded! I'm glad you finally got updated!

Apple is replacing the iPhones that are bent.
They reported that only 9 complaints (out of 10 million sold) were received earlier this week when this issue went viral.
I suspect they will redesign the case because this, along with the problem with the iOS 8.0.1 update, was very bad publicity for them.
