Virus Threat ????

Hi,

This morning I logged on as usual to continue reading a medical article I started yesterday. I was also perusing the forums. All of a sudden I got a pop-up window that said something to the effect:

"Microsoft Security: A virus has been detected. Clean your computer immediately to avoid breakdown of system."

I've had no experience with viruses before, but scanned my computer with both Webroot Security and Malwarebytes. Neither detected any viruses. I'm back on-line now with no apparent problems or warnings.

Anyone know what I should do next, if anything? TIA.
