OK, I need some help. I'm great ON computers, not so great at setting things up. My computer is about 4 years old, it's a Dell desktop that came loaded with Microsoft Office 2003. I wanted to upgrade to MS 2007, so went to Staples to buy the software to download. The rep at Staples first said it would not work with Windows XP, which I have, but then changed his mind and said, no problem - so I bought it.
Today I tried to download it and got this message - my computer needs an operating system of X86 platform, or X64 platform, plus MSXML version 6.10.1129. Do any of you computer experts know what this means? What do you suggest I do? I am hoping I don't need a new computer because that's not in the budget right now, and the one I have is working just fine. My problem is, I can't return the software since the package is opened, and I'm not sure if I can exchange it either. I spent about $150 which i can ill afford right now, but the guy insisted it would work and I really need the updated software. I'm trying to find a job, and you need to know the updated Microsoft Office. Help!!
