Email is not stored on your computer, it is stored on the sever of the e mail service that you use.

Simply download the email program, enter your e mail address and password and everything should be on your new computer.

That's not always true.  It depends on what type of e-mail service or program you have and your settings.  I have mine set to keep on the server so I can download mail to all of my devices.  Otherwise, the mail would be downloaded to the first device to access it and unavailable to the others.

I also found out the hard way that with some email, what you delete on the computer only deletes it from your computer and does not delete what is on your other devices.

HOWEVER, with some email carriers if you delete anything from any one device, IT DELETES EVERYTHING ... ON ALL DEVICES.  ooops!

Just be careful.

If for instance your e mail is Yahoo - you just search for Yahoo.com on the new computer and when it comes up put in your e mail address and your PIN and it should be good to go with your old e mail. Very simple.

Re: Transferring e-mail to new computer from old computer

I recently had everything transferred to a new computer.  The only thing that did not transfer was my address book.  Fortunately I had written down all my important e-mail addresses.

I had purchased my new computer from Staples.  They proveded a service where someone came and did the transfer.  I would not have been able to do it myself.
