Re: Tracfone unlimited gone?

I take the "$100 plan (good for one year)".     I have it in my car for emergencies.   In 30 years, I've used it TWICE...once for a flat tire, and once for a dead battery...

Pain in the *** to remember to keep the thing charged.

FYI, I worked in Health Care for 38 years.  If you think you will only have an emergency while in your car, you are mistaken.  If you think you'll only have an emergency within reach of your landline, you are mistaken.  If you think you'll only have an emergency when someone is close by to help you, you are mistaken.  If you think having a cell phone with you means you have to be talking on it 24/7, you are mistaken.  Having the ability to call for help saves lives.

Re: Tracfone unlimited gone?

@Kachina624 @Venezia  this is a new annual price/plan I found on the website.  Previously, I've seen unlimited talk/text and 24gb data for $192.  For some reason, the website isn't showing me that this morning, but I'm sure it's still there.

Tracfone also offers bundles on ebay. Check to be sure Tracfone is the seller, but they sell similar bundles there to what they sell on the home shopping channels. Sometimes more expensive, sometimes less.

I've been watching, too.  I have to do something by the end of May. I want the Motorola Power '24.  The '25 is on the Tracfone website, so the '24 "should" be on one of the shopping channels soon...hopefully.  I, too, have noticed that they are not offering any of the better Tracfones for sale.

Same here!   My current Tracfone Samsung purchased on HSN expires May 29th.

I realize I can always add an extension, but I was under the impression that HSN has major promotions in March and April every year.   Huh.

@Desertdi  Mine never leaves my car unless I am leaving the State I reside in.  My GS told me I have a built-in charger-----MY CAR!  I ONLY use the phone to order take-out.

Mine is usually in my bag..I do take it with me when I'm out "trying" to garden..I stick it in a fanny pack..and I've needed it...I fell in my huge yard..no neighbors..I called EMS and they were here in 5 minutes..I did say it wasn't an emergency in case someone else needed attention..

Re: Tracfone unlimited gone?

It's good to have the phone near you at all times. Mine is typically on a table near me, or in my shirt or pants pocket. When I fell and broke my femur a few years back, it was in my coat pocket. I was able to reach it and call for help. It's a good habit to get used to carrying the phone with you. You never know when you'll need it. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I just automatically now pick it up when I stand up and slide it into a pocket . Then when I go to sit back down, out it comes and onto the table.

Smartphones can even have your medical issues available for first responders so they don't have to guess what's wrong with you if they find you unconscious. Having a phone on you can be a matter of life and death.

Unfortunately, some people will only learn this the hard way.
