@stevieb  My sim  card  stopped working too.  Every time I tried to place a call it said insert sim card  when it was never removed. Also, from tracfone. I had at the time Verizon but was going to drop them if my tracfone experience was good.   I was shocked  that  after reading so  many positive things  about them I got  a lemon. Took about a year of  having their phone and service before getting that  error  message.

@willowbark  I had a lot of minutes too. They offered to send me a new SIMS carc (for a price) but cautioned me that the phone was 'aging out' so I opted for the new one. The minutes transferrred, but oh what a nightmare of an agent I had. If your phone was only a year old they should have taken care of it and probably would have one way or another. Incidentally, Verizon owns Tracfone.

@stevieb  In my case it is better for me health wise to take a loss.  At the time, I  had two 4G contract phones with Verizon. The tracfone was my first 5G phone but an older Samsung I had purchased from qvc and I still have those two 4G contract phones with Verizon. They are woefully limited in what they can do and I am unable to install any app because nothing is compatible with them.

Despite all  the disappointment, I'm not sure if I want to commit to upgrading. I have two because I no longer have a landline and I don't want to be in a bad situation if I can't  find my phone, so I have a backup which was my husband's phone.

@willowbark  I petty much use my phones until they just aren't supported any longer. I don't historically do apps but there are a couple I now find I have to have so I guess I'll have to ensure whatever phone I have is going to be modern enough to support them. I will never, though, be one of those that just must have the latest IPhone with the absolute best camera. I simply don't care that much. It's just a phone after all.

@MoJoV  Ditto everything you said!  That's why I'm here now posting.  I wanted to see if anyone else had problems after purchasing Tracfones through QVC.  I just went to Tracfone's FB page and it's the same situation there with their very unsatisfied customers.  People getting the same runaround and "try back later" nonsense for days.  All I'm trying to do is reactivate a phone I bourght from QVC and purchase a refill plan.

@MoJoV : I have been with Tracfone for about 10 years and the service has been over all good except for the last 3 phone calls to activate DH phone. Could not understand anyone and each call lasted over an hour.
I am currently sick and stressed out. I am home but in a hospital bed and can't walk.

I have to do something with my phone by June. Using the Galaxy A54 5G. I prefer to keep my number. I am considering Consumer Cellular and will purchase another phone so they can do the activation and transfer. I purchased a yearly plan with Tracfone that averaged being $11 per month but I need help with less stress. I need to research phones.

@MoJoV : What a mess. Signed in on my  tracfone account on my phone to check all my information. First message was to reset password. Done and signed in and message : account in valid. Resigned in: message that email needed to be verified. Started the process. The verification codes that was sent expired before the 10 minutes were up. I tried this 5 different times. I don't need this stress and frustration. Just going somewhere  different to purchase a new phone.

Looking at the Galaxy A15 5G and the Galaxy A16  5G.

@SouthernBee  I hope you've resolved your Tracfone problem.  I know the frustration  .  My granddaughter got me an iPhone from verizon on her plan. More complicated than the Android phones I've used.  But I'll get used to it.  Tracfone has changed recently and not in a good way.

I hope you're feeling better, that phone, computer etc.  stuff is so extremely stressful.

@MoJoV : Enjoy your new phone. Change isn't easy but sometimes necessary.

I have been busy doing a lot of research . Decided on Consumer Cellular . The new phone service will cost me $25 per month but I need the convenience and someone that I can talk with and understand. After so many reviews and videos deciding on the Galaxy A16 5 G. Need something easier to use and cheaper. I am too slow to do the live chat but will be able to talk with a customer service representative in about 30 minutes.

Totally agree and understand that the changes with Tracfone are not good.

Today is a better day for me and I will count my blessings.

@MoJoV : Just finished talking with Consumer Cellular. Lady was friendly and easier to understand. However, that costing more money. The phone will be sent to me in 2 days but no free shipping on the phone. Told to call back when phone is received and they will do the activation. I have mixed feelings about the total cost but I needed to make a change.

@SouthernBee  My husband is with Consumer Cellular he really likes it.  I was considering going with them too until my granddaughter "surprised" me with the iPhone.

Husband has had no problems with C.C. Tracfone isn't the same and we need reliable phones.  Glad you're doing better now!
