Would like opinions about Tracfones  that have batteries that can't be removed.  Removal batteries or no? I don't know enough about this to make a decision.

Not necessary to reply not to get a Tracfone - it's a done deal.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Tracfone & batteries

@WildDunes

I have used Tracfone for at least 10 years, with several different phones. I had one phone for 3 years and it never needed the battery removed. Not sure why anyone would remove a battery, except maybe thinking to reset it, but hey!

Yes, the batteries are removeable.  I have had a tracfone for over 15 years, and every one had a battery that comes out.

Tip ~~~   If your phone is acting goofy, and you can't figure out why, such as losing its charge more quickly than it should.  Take the battery out, set it on the counter and spin it.  If it spins like a top, your battery is shot.  A good battery doesn't spin.

From a purely technical standpoint, all battteries are removable, they're just not as easy to remove in some cases. The folks at ifixit.com can guide you in removing a batttery from just about anything and replacing it. That being said, it wouldn't matter to me. Tracfones and their service are so inexpensive when purchased through the home shopping channels that replacing it every year or two isn't that big of a deal.

I don't know of any that don't have a removeable battery.  It doesn't matter if it's a Tracfone or another carrier, it is about the phone itself.  Which phones  are you comparing/contemplating?

I have two TracFones. Five years and counting.

One has a removable battery, one doesn't.

Hasn't made any difference, @WildDunes.

Some of the newer Tracfones do not have removable batteries. I'm always upgrading to a new model instead of buying a new yearly service plan, so batteries that can't be removed don't matter to me.

I had one Tracfone with a removable battery.........the problem was that it was very very difficult to find a replacement battery  (and it didn't hold a charge as well) so I don't worry about it at this point.

Thanks to each of you that replied - so much help. I can see where a non-removable battery wouldn't matter to some as you do change phones regularly. In response to the poster that said something to the effect of why would you remove a battery, well, things happen and sometimes you do have to remove the battery.

Here is what generated my question: from tracfonereviewer's review of the Galaxy J3 Orbit Battery: 2600 mAh non-removable with 19hrs talk time, 21 days standby.

Again, thanks to  each for your help.
