I finally set up my Treasure phone. I got really ticked when I was trying to set it up & threw it across the kitchen tile floor. LOL!!! It did not break & it still works. The stupid card said to enter the IMEI or Serial # & the one place it actually wanted the SIM card # instead of the IMEI or Serial #. I was fixing to ship it back to HSN. No way was I going to call Tracfone. I hate their CS.

@Nightowlz

I was waiting to read the rest of your story about this phone. You sound a bit like my wife. Slam doors/bang on electronics, actually breaking some. Me? Ain't nothing going to get to me enough to damage ANY of our property.

Sure, I get ticked off, but I learned at a very young age, if I spent money I worked hard to obtain, ain't no way I am going to attempt to break it anything, regardless of even a cheap price.

Anyways, back to the phone. I am considering the Treasure if it once again is the cheaper price. Last I looked, they were sold out.if you do not send it back, can you give me more substance about the phone itself?

I have had Tracfone for many years and have never had, what I consider to be, a major problem with them. I've had many different phones over those years. Again, unlike my wife, that gets ticked at things I consider minor, I keep my patience and have yet to be unhappy with their CS or Tech Support.

Looking forward to and update if you keep this phone, and TIA for any info you can share.

Did you activate it online or through their FB chat? I've been reading Howard forums, and they are reporting that the website is being updated and is acting wonky. How long did it take your phone to activate? I'm still reading reports of phones taking up to 24 hours if going from a CDMA phone to a GSM phone. My ZTE zMAX 2 is coming Monday, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to transfer my service.

Well I try to keep my cool but I was having a bad day. LOL!!! We take care of all the stuff we own because we also worked hard for it & paid for everything by ourself. We generally buy higher end electronics, furniture, plus some other things. They do last longer & for the most part I believe you get what you pay for.

I'm keeping the phone. I was only going to send it back if I had to call Tracfone. I don't need the stress. Don't know much about it yet since I just set it up yesterday.

I talked to my dad earlier & it was a clear call. I need to talk to my sister to see how it sounds. It sounded good on her home phone but we have problems when she calls me on her cell so I need to find out if she can hear me. I think all the problems are her iPhone not my Tracfone since the only time I have ever had any problems is talking to her on her cell.

It's lighter weight then the Sunset & longer & thinner.

The keyboard seems to be a little bigger then on the Sunset.

DH has been using his since we got them. I have not heard him complaining about it.

@Ainhisg Yes I activated it online. Once I entered the Sim# instead of the Serial# it only took about 5 mins for it to transfer from the Sunset to the Treasure. I have only transferred from one Tracfone to another Tracfone. We can only get service with AT&T here which uses GSM.

Thank you. I went online today to see the new page, and saw that the choices are different. The first thing it asks for is the new phone's serial. Is that where you entered the sim instead?

I set mine up at http://activate.tracfone.com/

It asks for the serial # from the old & new phone. If I remember right I had to enter the Serial # from the old phone but where it asks for the Serial # for the new phone I actually had to enter the Sim # for it to work. It said Sim some place. Don't know if the Sim # showed when I hovered the mouse over that blue question mark or where I saw it. I wondered why it was asking for Serial # when I saw on the screen Sim #.

Thank you so much!  I'm glad to know that the link HSN provides in the box is working correctly.  I will use it on Monday when my new phone comes.  Thanks, again!

@Nightowlz, I can't thank you enough for sharing this bit of information.  My phone came today, and when I got to that screen, I entered everything as asked including the new phone serial number, hit enter, and a red banner came up along the bottom asking for the sim# to be put into that first area.  If you hadn't mentioned it, I might have missed that.  As soon as I entered the sim# (which is also on the red activation card) and hit enter, the port started, and my new phone was up and running in 25 minutes.

Glad I posted & could help you out. Hope others that have not set up their phone yet see the post. They should have said Sim# instead of Serial# for the new phone. No wonder so many people have problems when they send instructions that are not all correct steps. I have had lots of Tracfones & this is the 1st time I had a problem setting up the phone.
