TP-Link AC2600 Smart WiFi Router Archer A10

Does anyone have this router? I am replacing my router as it is 10 years old. It is a Linksys E-1000. It still works but is starting to drop the signal periodically.

My daughter has the TP-Link AC-2300 and loves it. The AC-2600 is the next upgraded model.

We have Spectrum internet. The AC-2600 has a video for the easy set-up and walks you through it.
I appreciate any comments if you have the TP-Router.

Happy New Year everyone.

@MKR14 One of my co-workers bought a Netgear Nighthawk 6 stream WIFI router, model AX4300 from Costco and said he was VERY happy with how great it works.  (He has Spectrum cable and it came recommended from one of their technicians).  I know the make/model because my son was just looking for one last week and he sent me a picture of what he bought so my son could get the same one.

He said he got it for about $150 when it was on sale, reg. $200.

@CAcableGirl2

Amazon has the AX4300 on sale for $140 from a third party seller. The customers are saying do not buy this router, with its connectivity problems and software issues.

When I buy a router I have to decide:

How many devices will I connect and type like Ring and Echos?

Do you need a USB 3.1 port  or e-sata for a hard drive ?

You may want to consider the Asus  AC 2900 from Amazon with  the TP-2600.

The Asus router has more features and a higher price.

@Nuttmeg  I guess it depends on which reviews you see, Costco reviewers are giving it 4.2 out of 5.  A lot would depend on the modem you are pairing it with along with the computer you are using and the reliability of your internet service.

I agree. It could even be the skill of the person during the install.

Netgear may just stop selling this router and the product will stop receiving firmware updates.

Re: TP-Link AC2600 Smart WiFi Router Archer A10

I decided I am going to get the TP Link AC-2600 router as the reviews are really good. I went on several sites to be sure. I watched how easy the video showed setting it up. I have the skills for that install.

Before I buy this I decided to replace my 10 year old HP wireless printer also as soon as I use up the ink from my printer I have now. I am thinking of buying the HP 7855 Photo Printer as it will make both of them compatible with Windows 10 and each other. Researched that too. Just waiting for our local store to get back in stock. That way if there is a problem I can return in person. Then I will done and not have to mess with either of them for a long time. I hate messing with setting up new electronics except Apple products. They are so easy to do. I like to research to be sure what I buy is what I want and not more than I need.
Thanks everyone.

I have an older printer in this series the HP7640, and I like three things about  it.

It uses two ink cartridges, is secure on a network, and you can make copies without having the computer on.

The router is very good, but I would  want an WiFi 6 router. I have a Smart phone and tablet with x6.

My sister has Spectrum cable service. She uses the hardware provided by the company. Her family uses many devices  with her 200 Mbps.

I do not believe she pays for a modern or router rental. Her equipment is on pare with the TP-Link 2600.

You may want to call Spectrum and ask.

I have XFinity and buy my own cable modem and router. I usually change items every 2-3 years. The company will increase internet speed and I need to change  my cable modem.

Re: TP-Link AC2600 Smart WiFi Router Archer A10

We get charged $10.00 a month for a modem and it is an extra $5.00 a month if we get their router. We were Time Warner and then Spectrum took over. We already pay $235.00 a month in our area. We also have their phone line. Not ready for just using our cells.
We are both retired and never go out to eat or other extras so that is our entertainment. I am afraid if I call Spectrum and talk to them they will mess up my account. It has happened before with Time Warner. We have the Ultimate pkg. with all access for most channels and three cable boxes. Two that you do not tape on and my bedroom that you can tape 6 programs at once. I still use their emails and if I change all over to Spectrum my friend said they change your emails to Spectrum.net. I do not want that.
I also also like a printer with the two cartridges as I think they are easier and less expensive. I have always had good luck with HP.
Thanks for the input.

@MKR14

My sister pays about what you do for her 4 cable set top boxes and the same package.

I live in NJ and I pay nearly $300 a month for XFinity service. I do have a premium package with 300 Mbps of internet . I will make some adjustments in the spring. Comcast prices are crazy.

Spectrum has approved lists of e-MTA, cable modems and wireless routers online. You can  find the hardware associated with your account and compare them  for EOL (End of Life) status.

I check a hardware list when I need to upgrade an item(s).

When I replace a cable modem I found help at Dslreports.com. This company has a Spectrum forum.  Each company  decides what  brand and model product will work with each speed of service. A cable company pushes software or firmware to make a item run.

Spectrum cable may have its own customer help forum.

The TP-Link router will be fine until you change iPads to one with a X6 wireless capability or buy a new computer.
