I just noticed a small crack on side of screen, about 2 inches long. I thought it was a hair . I never dropped it. It is in a protective cage and has a protective film on it. Phone about 2 years old. iPhone 15 plus. Is this something that needs fixing asap? Any idea on price or best place to bring it. This is my first real phone, have had Tracfones for years without any troubles. Thanks in advance , Susi.

@Susic If you have AppleCare, you are still under warranty. Call Apple If not, take it to your local Apple Store.
Prices depend on your location/State/taxes/labor, etc. No one here can answer that unless they live in the same location as you do.
For pricing info call your local Apple Store or ask when you get there.
If you do not live near an Apple Store, call Apple & they will provide you w/their 3rd party resellers who do Apple repairs nearest to you.

Thank you. I don't have an Apple Store nearby . Looks like could cost $120- $399.00 from my searches . There are some stores nearby that change IPhone screens. They seem to have good reviews. I didn't get AppleCare insurance as I am very careful with phones. Still can't figure out how it cracked. I guess phone protectors don't help much.

I have a hairline crack on my iPad and never got it fixed. I replaced my screen protector with a very thin tempered glass screen protector from Amazon. It's been fine and I use my iPad all day long for work and everything else.

It really is amazing how they can still crack with a protector but it happens all the time.

Is strange. I drop my iPad from time to time and it is fine. No special screen, but hard case. iPhone is more delicate I guess.

If it were me, I'd just ignore it and not do anything at all about. Several iPhones ago, I had a bad crack and just continued using it long after that either no problems at all.

@Susic I think it also depends on the brand of screen protector that you purchase. I have done Zagg and they come w/a warranty.

For me, since it is a relatively new phone model, I would pay for a repair. Don't want it to get worse. Sort like a car windscreen.
I had Apple fix one for me once and they had to keep it for a bit.

My iPad fell several months ago and got a hairline crack from corner to corner because I forgot to close its case before setting it down. I've been using it on a daily basis since then with no adverse impact. I do, however, make sure I close its case whenever I set it down now.
