I have an iPhone 7 that is running iOS 13.7. Should I update to 14.2? I'm concerned about my phone having issues as a result of the upgrade. Thank you.

I have tried to download the update three times.  The update has failed all three times.  I'm not trying again.

I updated my iPhone7 recently and had zero issues.

If you're notified that an update is available I think it's prudent to update. Often there are security features in the updates.

I updated my 2019 iPad without a problem. I was unsure about updating to 14.0 from reading it was so major, but it was fine.

@jbinrwc is there enough space? One time I had to clear off a lot for the upgrade, then was able to download (from the cloud) again for easier access.

@Thats Me thanks very much for your message.  I appreciate your suggestion.  I checked my phone for space and I have plenty available.  I guess I will just keep trying.

@jbinrwc @Sure. The only other thing I can think of, is to be sure your phone is connected to a power source rather than cellular or WiFi when you're trying to do this.

ETA at least with the iPad that's what is recommended.

I have a 7 and have moved through all the updates just fine.  Seems like the biggest change was with 14.0.  There are nifty new tricks to enjoy.

I have an iPhone 6S.  Did the upgrade.  No problems.
