Sharp TV

My 52" Sharp Aquos TV quit working yesterday. No picture, no sound. Are TV's repairable now days or are they just disposable? Mine is 3 years old. Just makes me so mad. I will contact a TV repairman, if there is such a thing any more, but thought maybe someone here had a problem like this and could shed some light on it for me.
