Shadow on monitor screen

Have an ACER laptop and on the right side of the screen, is a shadow that covers the edge of it----is darker near the edge and kind of fades to a lighter shade of dark ---any idea what this is or how to fix it--is a brand new PC too. Haven't yet tried to research it --thought I would pick your brains---thanks----

Sounds like the screen is damaged.

Is there an electronic piece of equipment or appliance sitting next to your pc on that side of it? Try moving your pc to another position and see if that helps.

I agree with contacting the manufacturer, but also the retailer. If it's a new PC, it's under warranty and should be perfect.

No use keeping something that may develop more problems down the road, when it's no longer under warranty.

regarding my issues with my new Acer laptop and the "dark shadows"-----remember that show? Anyway went to the Acer community and someone told me to check on other moniters, if those shadows were there--they were not so it was a damaged screen and/or a damaged video cable that connects to the mainbook--all Greek to me---but will send it back and I have ordered a desk top this time--
