Secure wireless network question.

Just curious.... I have a secure wireless network. It uses something called WEP. My neighbors all around me use WPA2-PSK. What is the difference?

And I can SEE their networks but cannot use them. Another neighbor also has WEP, I can see his... but he says he cannot see mine. We are next door. I have 5 bars and can get reception anywhere in my house.

I am curious why I am invisible to him. But I can view his name. We are all secured in some way.

I did not set it up... wish I knew how but I will learn later.
