You're welcome, @Marybella!   And @glb613!   I hope that helps out, and maybe you can talk with your provider...  but I don't know that they'll be able to do anything if that's the cause.

That's one of those "it is what it is" things! It's just nice to have a plausible explanation. Thanks, again!

Re: Samsung not ringing solved!

Hi @glb613. Thank you.

I developed spam problems on two of my less frequently used email addresses after others clicked on junk mail and then forwarded to me (Oy!)

Of course these spam senders shared/sold my email addy to other spam senders.

I let the flood of spam come into the inbox. After they piled up for at least a month I created successful filters using combinations of sender and words in email. (Using just the preview sentence) I never opened any of them. They now bypass the inbox and go straight to delete.

Only 2 slipped thru, due to MY error in setting up the filter, and were fixed with a quick edit.

@drizzellla,  Lol! You must've stepped into the Verision nearest me. It took 3 clunkers, all consulting one another there, to mess up a transfer from an employer issued flip phone to a smartfone. They lost all my photos, notes, I cant remember what all else.

All my employer said was "Try another Version store", and they let me keep both phones for a while.

An employee at another store finished the transfer but my photos were irretrievably lost.

Since then I've become a big advocate of people learning as much as possible about how their phones/apps operate.

I've become wary about handing my phone over to anyone, even if they're employed as customer service reps. I recently had a service technician blame a problem in one phone on the fact I access my email through more than one device. I knew that was untrue when he said it. I can log into my email from any number of different PCs, laptops, tablets, and phones.

The problem was a technical error on their end, and had nothing whatsoever to do with my phone.

But I had to prove it. Fortunately, I could.

Hedge - that is what Mr AT&T did. I had an old flip phone. The rest of the family had updated phones but I had liked my old phone.  I was talked into getting the latest and greatest phone. We were wondering if all my pictures or contacts would transfer from old flip phone to latest phone. And Mr AT&T said he could AND he did.

Verizon didn't want to be bothered to even give us a reply - yes or no. He clearly didn't want to be bothered. I can not believe how fortunate I was to encounter Mr AT&T.

I now have all my pictures and contacts from the last 15-20 years in my new phone.

Re: Samsung not ringing solved!

That's wonderful @drizzellla

The photos I lost were single and group shots of present and former coworkers, including one who had passed away. Losing those pictures was very upsetting as that group could never be together again.

Since then I've learned to store valuables in the clouds and other spots.

The woman at the second Verizon store had no problem doing what I needed done. She happened to be the store manager and was very apologetic about the incompetent service I'd received at the first store. She understood how that reflected poorly on ALL their employees.

My employer contracted at least 100 phones from them, and I know my experience at the 1st store had consequences.
