Has anyone had trouble with a Samsung Galaxy S7 not ringing when receiving a call? I only get about 60% of my calls. The other times it will light up with the caller's name or number and vibrate, but won't ring. This has happened with the second phone I received. I had trouble with the first one and they sent me a "refurbished" phone that looked like new. Now, I wonder if that one was returned for not ringing! I did a factory reset and it didn't resolve the problem.

What steps were required for you to take to choose your ring tone and volume? Have you called Samsung or visited their website for any Q and A?

Hi John. I stopped at an ATT store in December. The young man went through my phone and said it looked fine. I called ATT a few days later and they actually connected me with Samsung tech support, who told me to do a factory reset, which I did. The problem still exists. Hubby tried calling me twice and no go. Another party called and it rang. Another called and no ring. It's intermittant and annoying as heck. I'm paying lots of money for crummy service.

Thank you for looking! I couln't find any significant information as to whether others are having an issue. What other settings on the phone app in addition ot Sound and Notification would I check?
I have changed ringtones, vibrate on and off. The volume control works as text notifications come in loud and clear. As I told Hckynut, I have talked to the ATT store people who said the phone is set up properly. I did a factory reset as I was advised by Samsung tech.
Im going into my local ATT store today to see what else I can do. I am paying for the phone monthly, so that could become a sticky wicket if I want to try a different phone. I feel they should refund my money, but I'm sure they won't agree. I'm bringing back-up for proof that the phone doesn't ring consistently! Hubby will give them an earful if he is forced into it! LOL

- Hi @Marybella. I don't see anything online about S7's not ringing. Have you gone through the settings on the phone app in addition to the Sound and Notification settings for the devise itself?
- Does the volume control work? Have you adjusted the volume/checked it?
- Is the phone set to vibrate while ringing? Try ring only.
- Change the ringtone to rule out anything faulty with that.
- When in doubt, turn the devise OFF then on to reboot.

Update: I called our local ATT store to see if coming in made any sense. It's 2 degrees and windy and I thought I'd call first. They said they couldn't help me and that it was a warranty situation, so I didn't go in. I could tell by the conversation that I wouldn't get anywhere. So, I called ATT at the company 800 # and explained everything. All they can do is replace the phone again. I'm willing to do that. Maybe the third time is the charm!
If anyone has any further ideas for me to explore, I'd be happy to hear them!
The warranty is up in April, although I'll be making payments for the phone for another year after that! Maybe Verizon will buy the phone from me if I decide to switch!
