Just make sure you use a credit card to purchase their service. They go "bananas" when you want to pay in cash, in advance, even if it's for a year. The CEO's admin assistant had to get involved because I wanted to pay without the monthly credit card withdrawals.

Be careful if you do use a credit card. They have 'automatic renewals' at ridiculous prices compared to what you were paying and it is next to impossible to cancel. I went that route, tried nicely to cancel & it bordered on harassment what they did to me, hounding me, trying to get me to pay for prorated charges after I cancelled. I had to get state's attorney general & better business bureau involved. I am not a fan. If you google them, you will see their tactics.

ITA!! I no longer subscribe to this service with my new car. They will keep sending you offers for half price, but only if you give them you credit card # and agree to pay autopay to include their "full price rate at the time of renewal." Small print @ bottom of offer.......

Plus, they have horrible CS that obviously hate their jobs! I found it impossible to get anything accomplished with them.

I have so many songs on my iTunes that I like. It would honestly be less expensive to have a larger data package on your iphone and play iTunes radio instead. Much greater variety and the commercials are minimal.

I think in the not too distant future, they (Sirrius) will be long gone due to lack of customers. Ten years ago, they were great, but there are so many options today that make better sennse economically and technologically.

I will only say this about Sirius. We have a cell phone that we carry with us when we go somewhere and is mainly used for emergencies. We do not give our cell phone number out.

Somehow, Sirius has gotten our cell phone number. They call twice daily wanting us to subscribe. I have finally reported them to the donotcall.gov website. I do not answer the call because they are using our minutes to "browbeat" us into a subscription.

I would NEVER subscribe with any company that uses such tactics.

I have to laugh reading this thread. My husband's car came with Sirus and when it came time for renewal they hounded him to renew. He gave it and renewed. Now he listens to ""regular"" radio. I have no idea why he bothered to renew. Guess it was easier than getting all their phone calls.

If you would like a real in-dash unit, give Crutchfield.com a try. Give one of their techs a call or chat online, tell them what you're looking for, and they'll suggest something in your price range. I bought a new Kenwood unit and had it installed in my '05 Tacoma truck that was great.

As for handling Sirius, wait until a couple of days before your renewal comes due, then call them and tell them that you want to cancel. They'll say "fine, I can take care of that for you", then they'll ask why. Tell them something like "It's more than I want to pay", or, "I just don't use it that much". They'll come back with a much better price than you'd pay if you just let them renew it. Works for me every time. If the time comes that it doesn't, I have an MP3 player loaded up with my favorite songs that plugs right into my vehicle.

There is no other station I can find that is as good as "Old Time Radio" Sirius #82, for round the clock Golden Age Radio Drama broadcasting. If anyone knows of somewhere else where I could get continuous Golden Age, please post it.
