Hey there @Mindy D
Probably some good info from these "specialists" that are tv engineers. They know well that the environment and acoustics are paramount when using their high tech gadgets to get "their" best picture and sound. However!
I pretty much spelled out in 1 of my other posts how a person can get "their best video" in their viewing environment. If these "specialists" are 100% truthful? The tv sets come with factory settings for a reason, and for most that is a starting point(we have 3 Samsungs). Samsung in some models even have a "retail setting", imagine that.
Been close to an Audio/Video purist since high school. Had audio in my cars that was simulated stereo because 2 channel stereophonic sound was not around yet. Had color tv and I drove my mother nuts setting the picture. Then with the advent of the VCR, it was like I died and went to heaven in the late 1960's.
Did I actually type all of this? Geez Luweez!
