My first "portable" telephone!

Plugged into the cigarette lighter!  Last time I plugged it in, it would dial 911.

@Zhills I had one of those!  No carry bag - it stayed attached to the car in the center console.

I can remember the sound of the dialing to the finger stop thingie, and then the return to back to the original position.

One of my brothers still has a princess rotary phone.  I think one of his young grands has it now in her bedroom. 

My 102 yr young mother still uses her "wall" rotary phone from the 60's.  Along w/an extra, extra, extra long cord.  It's in the kitchen plus she can also walk anywhere in her apartment & still be able to talk on the phone.

My mom had a rotary phone in her bedroom until she died, two years ago. You couldn't make a call from it, but it could be used as an extension.  I bet the handset weighed 5 lbs!  It's one of the great things from the past. How many kids today have ever heard a dial tone?

@Blondie59   I've always had a dial tone on my cordless phones.  They all do I believe.
