Replacement for QuickTime Player

My new iMac has the latest version of QuickTime Player and it's not compatible with some older videos I took while on vacation over the years.  Does anyone have another Apple movie playing app they would recommend?

Try VLC media player. It's free and will play everything audio and video. At the bottom of their home page are the links to the Apple downloads.
