@gardenman , are you still here?
Quesrion for you. I have a keypad outdoors that opens my garage door. I had to reprogram it which took me a bit of searching on YouTube. Finally figured it out. Now my remote control for that door does not work. Any advice?
How do I program it so that the two devices work? TIA. LM

I've had two instances of the remote not working - needed to change the battery. Other time, the portion that was located inside the garage had a "lock" button, guess I pressed it, then the remote stopped working. once I unlocked it, problem resolved.

I'm still here. It sounds like when you programmed the keypad, you deprogrammed the remote. The lovely folks at garagedooropenerlabs.com have a nice article on how to sync the remote. Essentially you need to find the "learn" button on the garage door opener. (They tend to hide it behind the light cover of the opener, but brands vary.) Press and hold the "Learn" button on the garage door opener until the indicator light blinks. Then press the button on the remote while the indicator light is still blinking and God willing, the remote should work. You may need to also use the keypad while the indicator light is still blinking to reset that. In general, an opener can be programmed for five remotes or four remotes and a keypad. Each time you go through the "learn" process it resets the codes needed to open the door so you need to do the keypad and remotes at more or less the same time. Good luck!

Isn't it getting harder and harder to break into your own house?

@gardenman @SteelerFaninMD , thank you. I know where the learn button is as Inused it to program in keypad outside. Will give it a shot and let you know how it goes. I know it is not the batter since the same remote opens the other garage door.
Happy Friday! LM

I am in the same boat, my keypad won't work, but my remote does. I am afraid to reprogram my keypad, my remote won't work...

It's not difficult to reprogram either a remote of a keypad so they are the same number and both work. YouTube and Google are your friends. Type in the name of your brand, reprogram and follow the instructions. I 've done it and it's not difficult.
