How does one feel about buying one?

Unless I really could not afford a good laptop I guess I'd go for it. But I'd prefer a new one.
That's not to say you can't get a good refurbished one but I'd be very careful.

I bought mine from a local computer store (refurbished Dell) about 7 years ago and it's still working well.

My husband bought me a refurbished laptop through JemJem (a subsiditary of WalMart) and it's terrific!!!!! No problems. My brother-in-law also bought one---again, no problems. I also have a refurbished iPad--no problems. I would buy one again in a heartbeat.

I bought a refurbished iPad2 5 or 6 years ago. It's not as fast as it once was but is still chugging along. It was refurbished by Apple. Sometimes these gadgets only had cosmetic damage and they do replace all of the cases so it looks brand new.

I'm still using a HP windows 7 IE11 computer...and it heats up at times on me...i don't have any photos, etc stored on it..its 8years old.
I mainly use it to surf the web and post here and a few shopping web sites.and wild animal cam sites.
..but i was looking for another windows 7 computer in case this one goes kaput!
But, i only can find refurb. ones maily made by Dell!

I wouldn't hesitate to buy a refurb. laptop. They are thoroughly checked out and usually supplied with some warranty. Every refurb I've bought from time to time: laptop, tablet, cell phone, worked just fine for a long period and functioned as new with minor cosmetic flaws. I think the risk of disappointment or hassle is low.

I was told that when computers are made new, they pull one every so often and check it out.
Refurbs ..you know have been checked out!

No. Technology changes so quickly ... I just go to Best Buy and buy a new one ... w/o any bells or whistles - and Microsoft Office. They transfer all my files, apps and programs from my old laptop.
