Recommend Tax software

My Son needs to do his taxes for entry level job (no deductions), what software do you recommend.

Used Tax Act a couple of times, didn't like them.

Went to Turbo Tax and am quite pleased with them.

Not sure how entry level he is, but Turbo Tax used to offer federal and state for free for those with a low income. You have to look around to find it. Worked well for some that I know.

My son used TurboTax and it is quick and easy; however, the program price went up...last year I did his taxes using H&R Block because it was free. Since he lived in FL there was no need to file a state tax.

He doesn't have to buy software; just go online and use Turbo Tax or Tax Act.

I would go to the Federal tax site, and find a free program.

If he has no deductions, he just needs google the fillable tax form for federal and state. They are free and calculate for you.

I just use the free TaxAct. However, I do pay them $15 every year to transfer my data from last year's filing. Then I review that and make any necessary changes before finalizing. That way there's less chances of making errors.

My returns are very basic with no deductions. Easy peasy!
