Question re: iPhone5 data plan and wireless

I have my home wireless network also loaded on my iPhone 5.....when using my iPhone to look at apps./internet/etc. am I using up my Verizon wireless data, or am I using my own home wireless, or both?.........maybe one doesn't have anything to do with the other.....

I'm a little dumb when it comes to stuff like this even though I have been able to get everything set up and running with my new computer/printer/iPhone/and personal wireless modem.
