Just bought a roku and was wondering if anyone can suggest a free movie that you do not have to pay an extra $.99 to have the movie commercial free? I have loaded several free channels but all require extra charge for no commercials. Thanks for any help you can give.

That is odd! We have Roku (LOVE IT) and only pay a monthly fee for Netflix and HuluPlus. No fees for no commercials, ever.

Same here, except I only have Netflix.

If you have Amazon Prime you can get free movies and shows, too. I don't know if all versions of Roku have Prime. I know the Roku3 does.

Crackle is free but it has commercials.

I have netflix, hulu plus and amazon prime and I think they are worth it. hulu does show commercials but I still think it is better than cable.

pbs has a roku channel.

because you get a better picture and more channels and programming

There are a lot of free channels on roku but they won't replace broadcast or cable tv

I had the opportunity to view Netflix while at my sister's house. I loved "House of Cards" and will sign up when season 3 is available. Other than that, I really didn't see enough programming I liked to get a subscription. I have an iTunes account and there is a better choice of TV shows and movies for me.

I recall back in the 90's when I first installed cable there were no commercials, and then last year I watched a movie and then was forced to sit through 21 commercials non stop, at about 2 am.

That was what made me cancel cable tv the next day and buy a Roku, get Netflix, and Huluplus, and a bunch of other channels. You can always search for new Roku channels on your pc and add to your Roku line up on line and then they will auto download into your Roku tv.

I really like Netflix and the variety also with the movies on Amazon, either free as a prime member, or pay to watch.

I do not miss cable at all, especially not that humungous bill which kept going up and up and up. Pay more and get more commercials and lose digital reception due to cable excuses galore. Pretty soon cable and such will be phased out completely and newer technologies will become available.

I did keep internet and telephone cable service since I prefer to always have a land line and not pray that cell phones will work during storms and other emergencies.
