Is virus protection needed for these tablets? Does it already come with it? Thanks

You do not need virus protection.

I use Norton Anti-virus mobile software in my Android tablets, and smartphone. This is a link to the Kindle HDX app. You can read and decide which product is right for you. Norton scans apps before they are installed. I use the free product.

I come from the "it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it" school. I also have Norton's free AV on my Kindle. I haven't needed it, but it's there if I do.
